Pentecost: Harnessed

Harnessed…Pentecost Sunday

Harnessed fire in all its power,
Received by waiting ones,
Sent from God-All Harnessed Love;
Great work has now begun!

For filled with Love,
From instilled Fire,
Their hearts and tongues aflame,
They preach – language unbound,
Salvation in His Name.

The Name is Jesus,
For His love will not let them go;
Harness Fired-Love in me, my Lord,
That I, too, may be so bold!

“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.”
Acts 2:2-4

(Poem inspired by words of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin-philosopher/Jesuit priest. “…if humanity ever captured the energy of love, it would be the second time in history that we have discovered fire.”)
