Advent Poetry: Open… (#2)

Did she feel ready
As she steadied
Her heart,
To receive
The words of God?

Was she ready?
Would others affirm
As she listened; counted cost?
Did others commend, believe,
Or judge her life a loss?

What if today
God displayed
An open door unsought—
Unimagined—
Never even thought?

Would you say “No?”
Or bowing low say “Yes?”
“To do Your will is my desire;
I want Your will, the best.”

No matter the cost…

Reflect:
Deuteronomy 31:8; Hebrews 13:5,6.

-What promises accompany God’s call?

-As God calls, what does He ask of us?

-What can we say “with confidence?”

-What is your response?
